Teacher Bio | MITCH Charter School

Hello!

Welcome to the 2010 school year! My name is Amber Calcagno and I will be the K-8 Physical Education teacher this year at M.I.T.C.H. I am very excited to start the school year and to begin my teaching career here at M.I.T.C.H.

I am originally from Canby, Oregon where I was born and raised on a produce farm, which my parents still own and produce wonderful vegestables! I am very proud of my familys work ethic and the way they continue to produce and distribute wonderful produce! This may have been why I became so interested in health and how to be physically active.

I graduated Linfield College in 2009 with a degree in Health and Physical Education. I also played on the womans soccer team at Linfield for 4 years and am still involved in the program. I also coach JV girls soccer at Canby High School where we compete in the 6A division and are recently entering the 3 rivers league!

I am also very interested in culture, travel and language. I come from a very traditional Italian family and have grown to respect and support cultural differences. My hobbies include spending time with family and friends, playing sports, working out, wakeboarding, coaching, reading and traveling.
