Volunteer NEEDS My volunteers are a vital component to the success of the students, the flow of the classroom and my sanity. Listed below are the numerous tasks which I need volunteers. Please read through them and hopefully something will jump out to you and can fit in our schedules. #1- Basic Needs (copying, cutting, sorting, filing, etc) weekly or bimonthly #2- Fluency Passages (1 min reads with students) Weekly-same time each week (budget 45 minutes) #3- Best Work/Portfolio Filing (take down old Best Work, put various papers in portfolio) Weekly #4- Science Helper (fall/winter) collect and bring supplies in for science projects, will act as mad scientist assistant, aid students #5- Ag Helper (winter /spring) collects supplies, lead small groups in planting and plant observations. Weekly or bimonthly depending on person (same time each week/bimonthly) #6- Field Trip Chaperones #7- Celebration Volunteers – lead small groups in projects, crafts, games, and cooking during our in class celebrations #8- Scholastic Parent- Manages, tracks, and sorts all scholastic book orders for the class. Must have easy access to internet (I have a great resource person who knows all the ins and outs) #9- Take home projects (cutting, sorting, measuring, etc- random things for future projects) #10- Returned Work Sorter- Sort graded and returned work by student put into each student’s returned work folder and returns them to school so I can pass them out. #11- Library Parent- checks out books from public library to enhance classroom learning. |
