Mr. Selnau

Brent

Hello M.I.T.C.H. families!

My name is Brent Selnau and I am the new second grade teacher.

Let me tell you a little about myself. I come from a strong
agricultural background, spending my youth raising registered Black Angus cattle and hay on our ranch in Aurora.   I received my undergraduate degree in Agricultural Resources and Economics from Oregon State University. My Master’s of Arts in Teaching was earned at C oncordia University. I have two children, a son who is 18 and a 16 year-old daughter.
I am excited to be working with Miss Willner and look forward to collaborating with her throughout the school year. As a second grade team we will provide a fun and diverse learning experience for your students.

Although this is my first year at M.I.T.C.H., I have been in a classroom since 2002. I can be reached via email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it   or 503-639-5757. I check email before and after school, doing my best to answer after school hours. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or would like to pursue volunteer opportunities.

Sincerely,

Brent Selnau

Miss Willner

My name is Angela Willner and I am one of the 2nd Grade teachers at M.I.T.C.H. Charter School. I cannot believe I am heading into my sixth year teaching second grade here at M.I.T.C.H. I guess it’s true what they say, time flies when you’re having fun. I am very excited to welcome Mr. Selnau to the 2nd grade team! I am looking forward to having a colleague to work with this year in second grade. I feel very fortunate to work with such an incredible staff, to be a part of a close knit school community, and to teach curriculum I believe in.  I am very lucky to have a career I love.

Prior to teaching I spent ten years working in the corporate travel industry. I worked for major corporations such as Hewlett-Packard and Nike. I enjoyed my jobs and the challenges they posed, but I was not fulfilled with my career and decided to go back to school and get my Masters of Arts in teaching to change careers. It’s a decision I will never regret.

I recently returned to a childhood passion of mine; dance! I am thrilled to bring my love of dance and theater back to M.I.T.C.H. this fall as pa

rt of the after school program. It has been such a joyful experience dancing again and I am grateful to have dance and directing back in my life.

Family and friends are very important to me. I am also an animal lover. Your children will likely hear a lot of stories about Brisco my beloved border collie and Charmin my cantankerous cat.

I am really looking forward to getting to know you children and your families.  If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email me.
