Mon. MITCH Board Meeting It is 4th grades turn to impress the board and show something we did this year. Let me know if your student can come dressed in their hero costume and talk about our program. I then hope to show a DVD of their performance of Paul Revere. If you recorded it would you let me know. THANKS!
Jet Boats Please meet and drop-off at OMSI. You will need to walk your child down to the submarine dock by OMSI. For parents going please bring a check or cash for $22 on Monday. Make checks payable to Willamette Jet Boats. If your child needs a ride please work that out with another parent in our class. Here’s their website for more info.

Magness Field Trip Meet at MITCH at 8:30 and pick up at 2:00. OFRI is paying for the bus, YEAH! We are going with 5th grade and will learn about GPS, and do a rock study. Bring lunch, water bottle, and dress for the weather. Wear MITCH T-shirt, sturdy shoes and okay to wear jeans. I need at least 3 chaperones.
Camp Week – at Cook Park – WEAR MITCH T-shirts Please! I need some helpers for that week. I am planning on doing some Oregon Trail Crafts, Cooking, etc. I would like to do some dutch oven cooking for Monday’s lunch. Let me know if you can be my extra special helpers! I am still working out all the details so if you have some ideas let me know!
Math – We will do lessons 117-120 this week and then we will have finished all the lessons. YEAH. I told the kids we would have a “math” party if we finished the book. We will take test 23A on Monday, the 24th; have a fun party and review on Tuesday, the 25th; and take the final exam on Wednesday, the 26th. Great JOB! Science – Geology (Igneous, Sedimentary, & Metamorphic Rocks), Rock Cycle Social Studies – Oregon, Port of Portland, Oregon Trail Grammar – Prefixes and Suffixes. We have been doing these all year and the kids will come home with notecards to study for a final test. We will also be doing Abbreviations, and “A vs An.” Spelling – List 22 Reading – Reader’s Theaters, DEAR Writing – 3 paragraph essays on Michael Faraday
Udates from Mrs. Lorence … · Year books are only getting a one time order…Monday is the last day! must order and pay by this MONDAY! $20.00 · Next year school will start at 7:45am (7:30am carline) and out by 3:15pm start date September 13th. · Morning care and after care will be provided but the school needs to know by August 30th of the families needs. · Private Spanish lessons are being arranged for Friday's and more information will coming. · 6th 7th and 8th graders will have an open house 6:30pm June 10th, meet and greet time, here at Calvin (paper work and YFS turn in too). · Bonnie is planning on continuing the hot lunch program next year and she is looking for good recipes for crock pots or easy ideas to cook. She is planning on offering 4 day a week hot lunch program. She is trying to keep the price to $2.50 per lunch. · School supplies will be in bulk and we want to encourage parents to not buy separately, as we can purchase exactly what the teacher wants and save the families time and hopefully a lot of money too. · May 28th, is our last load from the business in Portland who is donating furniture to us…I would love some help. They would like us to arrive early Friday morning. Let me know if you can help me.:)
