We have a really busy week ahead. On Tuesday we are gone most of the day to see Cinderella (no Riggs in class or HW that day) and on Friday we see Frog & Toad (permission slip sent home yesterday – note time change). This week we will finish the last of Riggs spelling list one. The following week will be spent finishing Saxon Math, reviewing Riggs, and doing a lot of prep for Kinder Graduation. Though there will not be new words, there will still be daily phonogram/spelling tests through May 23rd. Homework will be missed words. This, along with the in-class review, will help prepare students for the final Riggs test that covers ALL phonograms and ALL spelling words on Thursday, May 23rd.
Please note the time change for Frog & Toad. The new permission slip was sent home on Thursday. Please return on Monday.
Something to think about: Every year Kindergarten puts together a time capsule that the now Kinders will open when they are in 8th grade. Each kiddo brings an item that represents them in some way. The item is packed up for 8 years, so it has to be something he/she is okay to part with. Please start brainstorming with your Kinder about what item he/she would like to put in the time capsule. In the past I have had: photographs, Riggs tests, small toys, favorite books, letter from parent, a pair of pants, a favorite t-shirt. So the window for creativity is wide open.
