Weekly Update: December 12th - December 15th


Happy Holidays!

  This week we wrapped up our Gingerbread Man unit. In the student's folder there are clay gingerbread men they made and the Gingerbread Man story that they helped write over the week. We also ate gingerbread men today! The students were super excited about that.

  In their folders are also flash cards that we used for a review activity today. Those are for you to keep and use at home if you wish. I found them nice to practice the phonograms that we do and do not use.

  When we come back from break we are going to do a unit on the book The Mitten and talk about hibernation and winter.

PM Kindergarten Schedule

11:15 - 11:30: Transition - story, game or short activity

11:30 - 12:15: Recess and Lunch

12:15 - 12:45: Teacher Read Aloud and Silent Reading

12:45 - 1:10: Whole Class Riggs Review/Riggs Homework

1:10 - 1:30: Whole Class Saxon Math Review/Math Games/Math Homework

1:30 - 1:45: Free Choice/Recess Outside

1:45 - 2:15: Core Knowledge/ Social Studies/Science/Literature Extension

(These lessons will be extensions of what the students have focused on earlier in the day with Mrs. Fisher.)

2:15 - 2:45: Centers related to Saxon and CK curriculum (Students will rotate to different activities around the room)

2:45 – 3:00: Read Aloud from Chapter Book

3:00 - 3:15: Wrap up and Dismissal
