School Life
School Hours
- Students: 7:45 am – 2:30 pm (Mon–Fri)
- Office: 7:30 am – 3:15 pm
- Students may enter starting at 7:30 am. Pick-up by 2:45 pm.
Small Class Sizes
Smaller classes mean more individual attention, reduced anxiety about participation, and stronger peer connections.
- Kindergarten: Maximum of 15 students.
- 1st–5th Grade: Maximum of 20 students.
- 1st Grade can go up to 22 students.
recess
- 2 daily recesses—one 15-minute grade-level break monitored by teachers.
- A 20-minute lunch recess supervised by specials teachers and instructional assistants.
- K-2 have a 3rd 10-minute recess at the end of the day.
homework expectations
Grade-level homework varies but typically includes reading, math, and occasional projects.

electronic policy
- All personal electronic devices (phones, smartwatches, etc.) must be turned off & stored in backpacks from 7:30 am–2:45 pm.
- Exceptions only for documented medical/safety reasons.

MITCH also provides FREE daily breakfast and lunch (optional) for all students with no requirement for eligibility, provided by TTSD Nutrition Services (opt-in via monthly Google Form). Please contact the teacher for more information.
Students eat in their classrooms or at outdoor tables during good weather. Important:

Transportation & Car Line
Car Line Procedures
AM Carline: 7:30–7:45 am. Late arrivals must park & sign in at the office.
PM Carline: 2:30–2:50 pm. Drivers may not enter the lot until flagged in at 2:20 pm.
Carline numbers issued by the office must be displayed--no exceptions.

Volunteer Requirements
Families are encouraged to contribute 20 hours annually or a donation of $10 per hour if unable to volunteer.

When to Stay Home
- Follow Symptom-Based Exclusion Guidance Chart.
- Fever, vomiting, diarrhea, and other conditions have specific timelines for return.
